The pandemic is poised to usher in the biggest retreat from global meat eating in decades. Per-capita meat consumption in 2020 is set to fall by almost 3 percent to the lowest level since 2011, according to data from the United Nations. In the U.S., it’s predicted that per-capita meat consumption won’t return to pre-pandemic levels until at least after 2025.
