In some ways, the dire lockdowns undertaken to stop Covid-19 have produced a bigger drop in greenhouse gas emissions than any other event in modern history. But it will not slow the pace of global warming, Bloomberg reports. With CO2 levels now at 414 parts per million, even a 10 percent drop in emissions would still deliver a 2 ppm overall increase this year.
