Bank’s Anti-Fossil Fuel Stance Sets Off Firestorm in Energy States

Bank of the West’s decision to not do business with fossil fuel companies is leading to threats of retaliation in Colorado, Wyoming and other states that rely on fossil fuels. The San Francisco-based bank recently said it would not support business activities that are “detrimental to our environment and our health.” One county responded by saying it would shift its transactions to a rival bank.
