The Trump administration has dropped plans to nominate a veteran energy lawyer to serve on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission after pressure from coal companies. David Hill, who served as general counsel in President George W. Bush’s Energy Department, had publicly criticized the idea of offering financial aid for coal-fired power plants.
