Wildfires in the Southwest and California nearly wiped out endangered species like the mountain yellow-legged frog and Mexican spotted owl. After Hurricanes Harvey, Maria and Irma, rare Key deer in the Florida Keys and prairie chickens in Texas lost much of their population.
