Frank McDonald appointed as guest editor of the Green News

We are delighted to announce that Frank McDonald has taken on the role of guest editor of the Green News. We are in the process of hiring a full-time editor and Frank has agreed to help our team in the interim.

Frank is former Environment Editor of the Irish Times as well as the author of several books, including The Destruction of Dublin (1985), and joint author of others such as Chaos at the Crossroads (2005), in which he and James Nix (formerly the Transport officer of the IEN) documented the negative impact on Ireland’s environment of the “Celtic Tiger” boom. His most recent book, Truly Frank: A Dublin Memoir, was published in 2018. He is currently Writer-in-Residence at the Academy of Urbanism and edits its journal, Here & Now.

Frank said: “The Green News is an important resource for environmental organisations in Ireland. I’m delighted to act as guest editor of the publication”.

Justin Byrne of the IEN said: “It’s great to have someone of Frank’s eminence editing the Green News. We know that he understands our ethos and will ensure that our high standards are maintained.”
