Hurricane Delta re-strengthened into a category 2 storm in the Gulf of Mexico, and could become a major hurricane by Thursday night or Friday, the National Hurricane Center said on Thursday. The hurricane is projected to make landfall on the Gulf Coast by Friday night, bringing with it life-threatening storm surges.
